Liverpool Victoria – IT strategy and architecture
Gideon Nissen

 

Gideon was the interim head of IT Strategy and Architecture of Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society Ltd for 9 months, reporting to the Group IT Director. Highlights during this period were:
  • developing an IT strategy for the Life and Pensions business
  • developing a Customer Management strategy to preserve and exploit previous investment in CRM technology
  • developing a Voice and Data network strategy
  • reviewing and approving the technological underpinnings of a major transformation programme in the Asset Management business (LVAM)
  • managing a small team of Enterprise Architects.
During this period, Gideon was drafted in to lead the Service Architecture work on a project whose objective was to transfer service provision on a specific date between one IT outsourcer and another, and which had got into difficulties. Richard Rowney, Liverpool Victoria’s Chief Operating Officer, said of Gideon’s involvement on this project, following its successful completion by the required date:  “You did a fantastic job. Thank you so much for stepping into the breach and working through the challenges so calmly and effectively. Great to have you as part of the team.”

Following completion of his assignment as head of IT Strategy and Architecture, Gideon was retained to lead the IT work stream on LVAM’s transformation programme, which successfully delivered in December 2008.
